Some dental services are covered by the Quebec health insurance plan (RAMQ) for all children under 10 years of age.
Services covered for children aged 10 and under:
- Annual exams, emergency exams, and X-rays
- Local or regional anaesthesia
- Silver amalgam fillings for premolars and molars, and composite fillings for anterior teeth
- Dental extraction
- Pulpotomy or pulpectomy: Procedure for partial or total removal of the dental nerve
- Preformed crown
- Certain oral surgeries
However, dental cleaning, dental scaling, fluoride application, pit and fissure sealing, and orthodontic treatments are not covered by the RAMQ. We will make sure to discuss with you the different options available and the rates of the treatments not covered by the Quebec health insurance plan.
